The Disabled Independent Gardeners Association (DIGA) is one of the affiliated societies supported by the Disability Foundation. DIGA provides opportunities for people with physical disabilities to participate in gardening and attend interactive workshops. We operate Community Gardens throughout Metro Vancouver and also assist with home-based gardening. DIGA participants work with volunteers to nurture their plants to grow and enjoy the health benefits of fresh produce. Check out our website at:

Our sailing season starts May 23rd and ends August 31st. We sail from 11am to 5pm Wednesday through Sunday. To be a sailing volunteer we require a minimum of a white sailing certification, a criminal record check is also required. If you do not have your sailing certifications, we are always happy to have land volunteers who can help with the rigging and launching of our boats. You can choose the dates and times you are available and we are happy to have you volunteer either for a minimum of 1 hour or for as long as you have available.
