Youth Volunteer - Community Policing
Calling all 16-17 year olds! Looking for something fun to do this summer? Join the West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre (WECHCPC) Youth Action Initiative Program. The WECHCPC isn't a police station; we are a non-profit organization that offers crime prevention education and personal safety awareness activities for community members, businesses owners, and visitors to the West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park. We are looking for 10 youth volunteers to participate in a variety of activities including conducting obstacle courses at community events, creating Child Find ID kits for young children, providing identification services for bicycles, and monitoring and reporting drivers with bad habits. You don't have to live in Vancouver to volunteer with us. All we need is a minimum of four hours of your time a month and a willingness to try something new. BRING A FRIEND. Volunteering is about having fun, making connections, and sharing a exciting experience. To volunteer, contact Shelley at 604-717-2924. For more information, check http://wechcpc.com/wechcpc/programs/youth-action-initiative/ and help assist the Vancouver Police Department with their goal of making Vancouver Canada's safest major city.
Youths will volunteer at special events, outreach events, safety presentations, community clean-ups, and graffiti paint-outs. Youth also have the opportunity to create and present ideas for activities and initiatives in which they would like to participate.
