About Educating Girl of Rural China (EGRC)

EGRC was established in 2005 in Canada with the belief that educated women have educated children, and educating women is the fundamental way to lift people out of poverty and build better societies.  Through EGRC‟s financial sponsorship and dedicated emotional support, near 1,300 young women from rural Western China have changed their lives through education. In turn, they have positively impacted their families and communities.   www.egrc.ca

Currently EGRC is looking for three volunteer English teachers to teach 18 first year university students. The teaching will be provided online once a week. Each teacher will teach 6 students. The teaching will mainly focus on speaking and listening skills, and vocabulary building.



Key qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in TESOL, education, or other related discipline.
International, multi-cultural background, qualified ESL (teaching English as second language) teachers preferred. 
Willing to work in some evenings and weekends.
Teaching time is from April to June 30th, 2020. The classes are based on once a week, 1 1/2 hours long.

About EGRC: Founded in Canada in 2005, EGRC empowers under privileged young women from rural China by providing the financial aid and personal support they need to complete their high school and university education. EGRC prides itself on identifying and training new generations of future women leaders, many of whom leverage their education to attain socioeconomic mobility for their families and communities. To date, EGRC has sponsored 1280 women, with EGRC students achieving a graduation rate of over 99%. 100% of the graduates have secured employment and 100% of graduate families have been lifted out of poverty.
