Virtual French Tutoring Program
Canadian Parents for French (CPF) is a national network of volunteers which values French as an integral part of Canada and which is dedicated to the promotion and creation of French-second-language learning opportunities for youth in Canada.
Canadian Parents for French BC/Yukon is seeking students who are bilingual to help us in an Online Tutoring Program for kids ages 6-14.
Our first phase of the pilot program is underway with 75 kids from across Canada. We are continuing our initial pilot program for the fall semester (Sep-December 2020), with hopes of continuing beyond. The program offers children 1-hour a week, one-on-one with our volunteer tutors. These children come from Anglophone households and are not currently getting to use their French while they are out of school.
We are looking for students who are interested in tutoring children 1 - 3 hours per week online. The Pilot will run from September-December 2020. Please only apply if you can commit to our fall hours.
Only apply if you are able to speak to children in both of Canada's official languages. Many of the children are new to French learning so sessions will be conducted in both languages. Must have internet access, a webcam, and microphone. There will be an application for our organization, a required 30-minute interview and you will need to sign a confidentiality policy. Our organization will offer ongoing training and support. Tutors can choose the time slots that best meet their own schedule.
