Position description: 

Kids Up Front Foundation (Vancouver) is seeking a Sr. Chartered Accountant to play a key role in the organization's Executive Committee.
Kids Up Front provides access to arts, culture, sports and recreation for local kids in need by redistributing unused event tickets and creating special events to help heal, bond and unite.
The Treasurer is responsible for governing the finances of the organization and will review and oversee the accounting work of the staff and volunteer bookkeeper. The Treasurer offers financial guidance and direction for the organization.
As part of the Board of Directors, the Treasurer is responsible for assisting the Board in its fundraising goals in one or more of the following ways:
Opening doors to potential supporters
Providing in-kind support
Selling tables/tickets to Kids Up Front's special events
Initiating activity to raise funds and/or generate opportunities for the kids
Stewardship.

Deliverables/Duties: 

Time Requirements:

Attend six board meetings per year - 1.5 hours/meeting
Chair or sit on a Committee i.e. finance, legal, national, board development - 1.5 to 4 hours/month
Attend events run by Kids Up Front.
Attend strategic planning session - half to full day, possible weekend
Participate in annual performance evaluation of ED - once/year
Participate in a board/self-evaluation study - once/year

Qualifications: 

Sr. Chartered Accountant
Fundraising experience an asset
