Thrift Store Volunteers
SUMMER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY
Are you looking for something awesome to do over the summer? If you are, why not volunteer for the VGH Thrift Store and contribute to a good cause.
The Vancouver General Hospital Thrift Shop Society is a non-profit organization that works to raise funds for patient care areas in Vancouver Coastal Health’s directly funded Vancouver facilities.
The Vancouver General Hospital Thrift Store needs volunteers during the summer months to assist in any of the following areas: cashiering, assisting customers, sorting and tagging clothing items, sorting and pricing donations, tidying and organizing the store, helping with donation drop-offs, recycling and more.
The VGH Thrift Store opens Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Shifts are from 2.5 hours to 4 hours each.
Besides making a positive impact this summer in supporting Vancouver health care programs, you will meet new people in a fun environment. And if you find this is the place for you, hopefully you will continue to be part of our team. We need you all year round!
Volunteers perform a wide range of duties which include cashiering, assisting customers, sorting and pricing donated items, tagging and pricing clothing items, displaying and organizing merchandise, tidying and cleaning the store, helping with donation drop-offs, garbage and recycling.
