Sheway Toy Room Support Assistant

Position description: 

The volunteer assists the Sheway staff and clients by preparing the toy room for use by clients. This enables clients and their children to access donated toys and a healthy place to play.

Deliverables/Duties: 

□ Sort toy donations
□ Sanitize toys and play surfaces in toy room located in the Sheway drop in area
□ Refer any questions by clients/ visitors to on-site VCH Staff

Qualifications: 

□ Must be comfortable working with moms and young children
□ Must have strong interpersonal skills
□ Ability to work independently
□ Patient, respectful, understanding and reliable.
□ Competency in English

Role is suitable for: 
Adult
Additional Information: 

□ Volunteers must be available for 1 shift per week.
□ Shifts are to be on Tuesday, Thursday or Friday mornings between 9 and 11 am
□ Shifts are 2 hours in length
□ Minimum Commitment of 4 months

□ Training and orientation provided by Sheway staff in partnership with Volunteer Resources staff

□ Screening Interview with Volunteer Resources
□ Must successfully complete a Criminal Record Check (to be processed after interview)
□ Must provide two professional references
