Position description: 

Every third Thursday of the month the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (MPNH) hosts the Seniors Supper Club! At this event, volunteers have an opportunity to prepare and serve a delicious meal to seniors in the Mount Pleasant community. This is a fantastic opportunity to meet, greet and eat with senior neighbours and keep them actively engaged in the community.


Roles are flexible and include
-Set up dining room (3pm-5pm)
- Prepare, plate and serve food (5pm-7pm)
-Clear plates and dishes (5pm-7pm)


New volunteers at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House are required:

To submit a volunteer application, including two non-family references
To complete a criminal record check
To complete MPNH's orientation

To volunteer with our food programs, volunteers should be:

Friendly, caring, empathic and welcoming towards all other volunteers, staff, and guests from a diverse range of ages and cultural backgrounds
Knowledgable in safe food handling practices, clean and orderly, able to operate safely and cooperatively in a kitchen with others
Able to lift and carry plates, pots and pans, tables and chairs, etc

Passion for food and the social community! Commitment to being there 1x per month


Role is suitable for: 
13 - 18
English as a second language (ESL)
People with intellectual disabilities
Additional Information:

Reference letter will be provided after 25 recorded volunteer hours
