Position description: 

BECOME AN IN-SCHOOL MENTOR FOR BIG BROTHERS OF GREATER VANCOUVER!

Interested in an hour of laughter a week? Then become a Big Buddy! Men and women provide friendship, encouragement and guidance to boys and girls in grades 1-7. The program is non-academic and the activities range from playing games and sports, reading, doing arts and crafts to just hanging out and talking. Big Buddies see Little Buddies for one year (but you do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays). The visits take place on school grounds during school hours (it varies by school but it is approximately 8 am - 3 pm).

Who can be a Big Buddy?
- Men and women 18+
- University/college students
- Professionals who are looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity
-Retirees looking to give back to their community

Qualifications: 

No special skills or previous experience necessary but must be caring and dependable. Must be over the age of 18 (there is no upper age limit). A Criminal Record Check and references are mandatory. Make a big impact on a child's life and give back to your community.
