Position description: 

BECOME AN IN-SCHOOL MENTOR FOR BIG BROTHERS OF GREATER VANCOUVER!

Interested in an hour of laughter a week? Then become a Big Buddy!

Both men and women can volunteer to be In-School Mentors and provide friendship and encouragement to boys and girls in grades 1-7. The program is non-academic and the activities range from playing games and sports, reading, doing arts and crafts to just hanging out and talking. Big Buddies see Little Buddies for one school year (but you do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays). The visits take place on school grounds during school hours (it varies by school but it is approximately 8 am - 3 pm) and can be flexible to accommodate your schedule.

Who can be a Big Buddy?
- Men and women 18+
- University and college students
- Professionals looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity
- Retirees looking to give back to their community

Qualifications: 

No special skills or previous experience is necessary but must be caring and dependable. Must be 18 years of age or older (there is no upper age limit). A Criminal Record Check and references are mandatory. Make a big impact on a child's life and give back to your community.
