Position description: 

Volunteers who provide support to programs, work with staff to enhance quality of life while helping to eliminate the feelings of loneliness, boredom and helplessness from life in the care home.

Deliverables/Duties: 

Arrives 30 minutes prior to program to assist with set up of program
Assists with portering of residents to/from program
Supports the program activity tasks/interactions
Assists staff to restore program space back after program (furniture, putting equipment away, etc)
A detailed assignment description will be provided.

Qualifications: 

Ability to communicate in English
Able to take instructions and initiative
Willing to work both independently and with a team
Comfortable with or the desire to gain confidence working with seniors with disabilities

Reference letter provided after 100 hours or three months, whichever comes first.
Training will be provided.
