Position description:

Join ONE TO ONE’s Board of Directors!  Our collegial board is not only passionate about literacy – we are dedicated to providing leadership and support to a small staff responsible for strengthening and growing our impactful program.

Directors participate in eight to ten board meetings annually including an annual general meeting held in late November or early December.   In the recent past, meetings have been held at the Spencer Creo Centre (500 - 610 Main St, Vancouver).  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings are now held virtually and this will continue indefinitely.

Directors also serve on at least one board committee and participate in fund-development initiatives and activities.

The minimum commitment is one calendar year.  However, to ensure the strength and continuity of the board, we ask prospective members to consider this a long-term, multi-year commitment.  We anticipate opportunities for members with the requisite time and experience to step into leadership roles on the board executive.

We are seeking individuals with non-profit board experience and with connections to the philanthropic and/or business communities.  Our most pressing need is for backgrounds in finance, education and legal.  Some interest in fundraising is a definite asset.
