Position description: 

- This is a volunteer placement program that serves Permanent Residents (PR), conventional refugees and Naturalized Canadian Citizens in the Metro-Vancouver area

- Participants who volunteer in this program may gain practical Canadian work experience in one of the following work settings:
* child care program (serving 5-12 yo)
* front desk reception
* pre-school (serving 3-5 yo)
* senior programs
* small offices admin
* Community Events
- Your placement destination depends on a number of factors: availability, professional experience & skills, interests and whether you passed the screening interviews.

Deliverables/Duties: 

- Customer service
- Admin (data entry, filing, and prepare documents on computer.)
- Assist teachers to deliver pre-school sessions
- Working with seniors
- Maintaining a clean work space
- Event helpers: setup and take down, staffing table and running games, etc
Note: duties varies, subjected to need of the work environment

Qualifications: 

- Permanent Residents, Conventional Refugees or Naturalized Canadian Citizen (Basic eligibility)
- Youth / Adults / Older Adults intended to obtain work experience for employment purpose in Canada
- Willing to travel to work in businesses located in South Vancouver area (North to 41st Ave, South to Fraser River, East to Boundary Road and West to Granville St)
- Intermediate English language proficiency
- Have relevant experience or background in home country an asset
