Position description: 

The recreation staff at Yaletown House support our residents to achieve optimal health and quality.
Volunteers play an essential role in allowing us to facilitate safe, person centered, therapeutic programs.
We are looking for a volunteer to help support our weekly Knitting Club. This program takes place on Saturdays from 10:30 - 12 and is led by a knitting specialist volunteer with support from a Recreation Therapist.

Deliverables/Duties: 

Teach basic knitting skills.
Socialize.
Problem solve.

Qualifications: 

Knowledge and love of knitting.
Patient and kind.
Volunteers must be comfortable and interested in working with people who are in their senior years and who may have impaired memory and communication skills due to dementia.
