The role of the Homestay Coordinator involves locating, selecting and orienting host families before the arrival of the client, and monitoring homestay placements during client’s stay. The Homestay Coordinator will work with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure consistent high quality of service in delivering homestay experiences.
Recruitment, selection and orientation of host families in the community for Homestay.
Screen new homestay applications.
Screen potential homestay providers on the phone.
Meet potential homestay provider in their house and take photos of the space.
Develop homestay training guide with assistance from the Volunteer Coordinator.
Attend homestay training presentations with assistance from the Volunteer Coordinator.
Act as point of contact for homestay families.
Provide advice and referrals when necessary.
