Useful things to know about your time at our head office:

We have a comfortable lounge area where our volunteers can relax during their break, free snacks / refreshments are also provided. There are secure lockers for you to put your personal belongings in during your shift. Our new bright, spacious warehouse / head office has a custom-built kitchen for hosting workshops and events, and has increased freezer and refrigeration capacity allowing us to accept even more fresh and frozen nutritious food. We are located in Burnaby, within close walking distance to Production Way Skytrain and there is free parking onsite.

About the role:

Come and join us where you will play a key role in supporting our Development Team! We are looking for holiday receptionist volunteers, holiday phone volunteers, and holiday greeters. These roles will suit someone with strong communication skills and who is highly organized. Previous experience working in administration is highly desired. Tasks include greeting donors, answering phone calls, writing temporary tax reciepts, updating donor information, and other tasks as assigned. 

Available shifts:
December 9th - January 7th: Monday - Friday 9:30am-12:30pm and 12:30pm-4:00pm

Volunteers need to be able to commit to a minimum 1 month commitment and 1 shift a week.

Requirements:
All volunteers must apply online to volunteer with the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
You will be required to attend an in-person orientation.
All volunteers are required to complete a criminal record check (free of charge).
All volunteers for this role must be 15 years or older.
We will provide more information about this positon once you apply and at our volunteer orientation.
