Position description: 

Help make our community an even safer and better place to live and work by joining our team of volunteers. Develop community contacts. Learn new skills (training provided by the Vancouver Police Department and Hastings Sunrise Community Policing Centre) and get great work experience.

We have many positions available including:

  • Information and Community Assistance
  • Citizens Patrols
  • Road Safety
  • Outreach work
  • Community Cleanup and Graffiti Paint-Outs
  • Program Development
  • Researching resource materials and much more…



  • Minimum of 8 hours per month
  • Duties depend on type of position


  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Willing to consent to and pass a VPD Criminal Record Check
  • Comfortable working with the public and a team player
  • Able to converse and write in English
  • Willing to volunteer a minimum of 8 hours per month
Role is suitable for:
