Fundraising Event Planner
We are currently seeking Trivia Night and Gala Committee Fundraising Committee Members to join our team of volunteers who work to plan, organize and execute our two major annual fundraisers.
Candidates will connect with their own creativity in order to create a successful event.
Staff support and leadership is readily available.
We are looking for candidates who are invested in helping us raise funds that will support our programming throughout the year.
Alignment with our Mission
Serve on the Gala committee and assist with Trivia night fundraiser
Attend monthly meetings, either in person or through Zoom (October through March)
Help solicit and collect items to be used in silent auction/door prizes
Decorating of the venue, set up and tear down
Selling 50/50 tickets/silent auction transactions
Volunteer at the events on the day of
We are currently seeking individuals who are interested in assisting with our annual fundraising events and have the following skills:
Event planning and organizing
Experience with silent auction collection and assembly
Obtaining Sponsorships for events
Promoting and selling event tickets
Knowledge of and connection to the Blind or Partially Sighted Community would be considered an asset but is not required
Blind Beginnings hosts two fundraisers per year, a trivia night in February and an annual Gala at the end of March. The Trivia night is casual smaller fundraiser. The Gala is our main fundraiser and is an opportunity to create space for our members and their families. It is also an opportunity to recognize local businesses that are providing accessibility. This much loved and anticipated event has been running for 10 years and is a great opportunity to attract media to build awareness of our organization.
