Free Geek Vancouver Board Members
Board members of Free Geek Vancouver are responsible for overseeing the governance and financials of the organization.
We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to reduce the environmental impact of electronic waste by diverting unwanted computers from landfills through recycling and reuse.
We accept donations by individuals and organizations, and aim to reuse as much as possible. Computers are rebuilt and tested by volunteers, and are donated to local non-profits and charities in need, or sold at affordable prices in our thrift store. Through this, we are able to ensure technology can get to those who need it.
What cannot be reused is sent to local recyclers who will process it in a way that is ethically and environmentally responsible.
We are seeking interim Directors for positions starting ASAP, which will be held until our next AGM in September 2019. A time commitment of 5 to 10 hours per month is required.
Free Geek Vancouver aims to provide an inclusive space; we encourage all candidates to apply to help us create a diverse voice.
