Can you help pick up and deliver food hampers to folks in your community in need?

We need of drivers to pick up prepared food hampers from Jewish Family Services from our distribution centres and hubs for delivery throughout the Lower Mainland to clients in need. Jewish Family Services helps families and individuals in the Jewish and broader community. Our sites are in the following cities.

Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver, Richmond, Coquitlam, and Surrey .

How this works

Arrive at the Food Bank or hub locations 10 minutes before your shift. Phone the onsite coordinator who will provide you with details of where to pick up your hampers. Routes and instructions are sent to delivery drivers in advance of their scheduled shift.

Time Commitment: 3 hours weekly. This is a recurring commitment to fulfil an ongoing need. Shifts are available on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and ad-hoc basis.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR VOLUNTEERS: Please contact immediately if:

  • you feel unwell before or on the day of your shift. Please stay home and do not volunteer. 
  • you are unable to fulfil your shift commitment. If possible, please try to provide a minimum notice of two days to allow us to make alternate arrangements or find another volunteer.

REMINDER: It’s important you let us know if you’re unable to fulfil your commitment this will allow us to find another volunteer to fill your slot. 

Your health and safety are important to us 

  • Maintain physical distancing by keeping a minimum 2-meter distance between you and any other person not in your immediate family.
  • Wearing a non-medical mask or face covering while out in public is recommended for periods of time when it's not possible to consistently maintain a 2-metre physical distance from others, particularly in crowded public settings.
  • Avoid touching your face and in particular your eyes, nose and mouth. 
  • Practice good hand hygiene by washing your hands thoroughly and often. Wash hands with soap for a minimum of 20 seconds and rinse under clean running water.
