Position description:

Wanted! Part time FITNESS INSTRUCTORS who love community building, working with youth and supporting mental health initiatives!

Face of Today is currently looking for energetic and passionate Group Fitness Instructors who love community building to join our Strengthen Pillar Team part time! At the new Face of Today resource centre, two type of fitness and wellness classes will be offered in 2020. We offer classes, sessions and workshops to the downtown Vancouver community as drop in classes, special events and as part of FOT membership as well as not-for profit classes for vulnerable youth after school on weekdays. All of our classes and programs are accessible online for both instructors and community through FOT’s Mindbody and Fitmetrix app.

FOT is seeking instructors who are passionate about mental health to share their expertise and knowledge in these classes. Specialties in yoga and stretch, HIIT, Tabata, circuit, boxing (fitness), dance (fitness) and meditation are welcome. In FOT’s programs, instructors are always compensated for their time, despite attendance. Here is how our instructors are compensated:

When a trainer/instructor leads a community class where anyone can pay to attend, this type of class is classified ‘for-profit’ community class. The instructor is guaranteed $100.00 per class by FOT. Any revenue generated by class attendance above this amount will also be paid to the instructor less 20%. The 20% is held back as a donation to FOT for our ongoing non-profit programming for vulnerable youth. Instructors can earn over $500 per class on this model if they promote their classes in the community alongside FOT!

For each community/profit class an instructor hosts, instructors donate equal time to host non-profit fitness class for vulnerable youth at the centre in their area of specialty. A FOT volunteer who is certified in Mental Health First Aid will chaperone all non-profit classes for youth at the centre.

Our goals is to provide both community classes and non-profit classes afterschool for youth each week commencing in January 2020 as part of FOT’s mental health mandate.
