If you enjoy working with people and are interested in sharing Vancouver's history, we have a volunteer opportunity for you!

Roedde House Museum (RHM) is a fully restored and authentically furnished 1893 family house
located in West End Vancouver. While its primary function is education, RHM also serves as a
cultural hub of the community, bringing people together through music and other special events.
Since 2013, over 200 jazz musicians have performed at RHM in monthly jazz concerts. In 2019-20
Jazz Evenings in the Parlour aims to expand beyond the confines of the parlour and now seeks a
volunteer videographer who will take the lead in implementing a system at the Museum to grow
audience numbers through social media.

Prior museum/gallery experience or knowledge of Vancouver's history is a definite asset.

Deliverables/Duties: 

• Oversee an audience expansion project from start to finish
• Make the creative decisions
• Operate own camera equipment
• Prepare media files to be live streamed across multiple digital platforms
• Must be available frome 6:30-9:00pm on the following dates: (September 12, October 10,
November 14, December 12, 2019)

Qualifications: 

• Skilled in all aspects of video production
• Strong digital asset management and organization
• Self-starter who takes initiative with little direction
• Confident communicator who’s comfortable working with a small team

The Roedde House Preservation Society is dedicated to the preserving, maintaining and enhancing of the Roedde House Museum and to presenting heritage exhibits and programs reflecting the early history of Vancouver for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. Slogan: Preserving the Past for the Future. Since the Museum’s official opening in May, 1990, the Roedde House Preservation Society has run Roedde House as a threefold facility: a museum with guided tours, including an active schools program, a venue for music and other entertainment, a rental facility for small receptions.
