Position description: 

Karate BC is the provincial sport organization for karate in British Columbia. We aim to promote the traditions and integrity of karate-do and to provide opportunities to excel in a competitive environment.

Karate BC will be hosting the 2020 Canada Open Karate Championships May 30 & 31 at the Richmond Olympic Oval where approximately 500 National and International athletes will be competing.

We are seeking volunteers to assist with:
- equipment set-up and take-down
- score-keeping/time-keeping
- weigh-in
- marshaling
- admissions
- security & crowd control

Deliverables/Duties: 

Scorekeepers / Timekeepers will be using computer software; training will be provided.

Qualifications: 

- must be 16 years of age or older
- must be available to volunteer at least one full shift; minimum 4 hours

Additional Information: 

Volunteers who do an 8-hour shift receive a lunch and a t-shirt, and the best seat in the house to view Canada's premier karate event.
