Escorting Residents to Medical Appointments
Volunteers needed to escort residents to a social leave, appointment, or outing. Volunteers escort residents on foot (usually pushing resident in a wheelchair). Transportation is arranged by nurse, resident or recreation staff through handi-dart, facility bus, taxi, or ambulance.
To encompany residents to and from appointments and bus trips via handy dart, taxi, facility bus or ambulance
Volunteers need to have an interest in helping others, and provide service in a consistent, positive and helpful manner
Volunteers need to be kind, respectful and caring
Volunteers need to be a responsible adult that can follow home policies and procedures
Volunteers must have problem solving skills with the ability to calmly handle situations associated with working with individuas with various care needs and abilities
Volunteers must consent to a criminal record clearance check, and be free of any criminal charges
