Position description: 

The West End Family Place is a free drop-in program for children under the age of 5 years old and their parents/caregivers. The program features a variety of activities that promote healthy child development such as circle time with songs and stories, free play, arts and crafts, and parenting. We are looking for consistent and committed volunteers to support staff to set up the space, play with the children, do activities, chat with caregivers, and tidy up afterwards. This program can host up to 30 kids and volunteers should be comfortable in a noisy and busy environment. The program is looking for volunteers available on Monday and/or Wednesday mornings from 8.45am-11.45am. 


Under the supervision of Gordon House staff the volunteer on this program would work to set up the space, play with children, do activites, and chat with caregivers. Additonal skills in arts and crafts or a background in childcare is a huge assest. 


Previous childcare experience is a major asset for this role. Volunteers will need to pass a criminal record check before starting this role.
