Deliver Meals Meals on Wheels (by Car or Bike)

Position description: 

The Heath and Home Care Society of BC has provided our invaluable Meals On in Vancouver and Richmond for over 50 years and relies on volunteer involvement.

Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver meals to isolated seniors in our community by car or by bicycle, Monday - Friday from 11am- 1pm. In addition to a hot meal, volunteers provide a friendly chat and an informal safety check on our clients. Typically, our volunteers commit to volunteering once per week, however, we are willing to work around how much time you have to give. 

No car? No problem! We also have partnerships with Zipcar and Modo.  

We provide orientation, support and mileage reimbursement for drivers. We would love you to join our team!

Qualifications: 

Typically, our volunteers commit to volunteering once per week, however, we are willing to work around how much time you have to give!

Please note a current police check is required for all Meals On Wheels volunteers.

Additional Information: 

This role is suitable for all people, however, people under the age of 19 would need to volunteer with an adult guardian. We have a number of supported volunteers who deliver meals with their support worker. There needs to be an adult who can drive.
