Position description: 

Rogue Folk presents over 50 concerts per year in Kitsilano at St. James Community Square. Volunteer positions include the following:

1. People to work at the door, selling tickets, processing advance tickets, and helping people find their way around the venue

2. People to sell performer merchandise

3. People to work at the bar, serving drinks or snacks

4. People to sell raffle tickets

5. People to set up chairs and tables before the show and / or put them away after the show

6. Experienced bookeeper with a few hours per week to oversee / perform data entry and / or accounting supervision at our office on Granville Island

7. Social media experts to handle our Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc.

8. Archivist(s) to organize our library of recordings and publications

9. We are always on the lookout for potential Board members, especially those with experience of fundraising, grant writing, and financial reporting

Rogue concert volunteers are expected to be on site by 5:30pm on concert nights, and in winter soup, bread and salad are provided. In Summer BBQ and salads are provided - at 6pm

The Rogue is proud of our history of presenting great music for 33 years and fostering team spirit and an audience-friendly atmosphere while giving performers a respectful listening and performing environment

Ability to move furniture / boxes of supplies

Bar server accreditation

Grant writing

Fundraising

Bookkeeping

Archiving

Qualifications: 

In all roles it is required to have good people skills as audience comfort and teamwork amongst volunteers are of paramount importance

Some roles require financial acumen to make change, operate Square Reader or Credit / Debit Card machines

Bar staff require Serving It Right Server certification. Licensee certfication is desirable but not as essential

Concerts take place one or more evenings per week, primarily from September through May

Our office is located at 1504 Duranleau Street on Granville Island, and some office workers are also needed.
