The West End-Coal Harbour Community Policing Centre (WECHCPC) is a non-profit organization that provides crime prevention education and personal safety awareness activities in Vancouver's West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park. Our Patrol Program volunteers are responsible for walking/riding around the community distributing crime alerts/prevention information to residents, conducting safety assessments on vehicles and buildings, looking for suspicious behaviour, monitoring and reporting driving infractions, and identifying vulnerable adults. Patrol volunteers are NOT security guards and are not responsible for confronting or engaging anyone behaving in suspicious behaviour. Community Patrols will observe and report ONLY.
Your contribution will help community members and visitors in the West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park feel safer and you will be assisting the Vancouver Police Department with their goal of making Vancouver Canada's safest major city.
Volunteers will be responsible for walking/riding around the West End, Coal Harbour, and Stanley Park in two to four hours shifts. While on patrol, volunteers will write Crime Prevention Notices and use tablets/ipads to record various infractions.
