Interactive cooking with pre-schoolers. New Westminster Family Place is a family resource program for families with children 0 - 5 years old. Many families are new to parenting, new to the City or new to the country. The reality of parenting can be overwhelming especially with no extended family to help. Here they meet each other to share the joys and challenges of parenting and are able to attend parent education classes and receive information and support from the staff. We help parents to provide a good start for their children by promoting, encouraging and providing family related services and learning skills program with a preventative and educational focus. The volunteer interacts with the children in the playroom, assisting with supervision and socialization.
