We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic volunteer who would like to attend appointments with residents. What is required of the volunteer is to take residents to and from appointments, check in with the care staff at RILS and gather all information, forms needed, and appointment information slip for the appointment. As well as bring back any forms from the appointment back to RILS and deliver to care staff.
The appointments are previously scheduled and the volunteer is given all information that is necessary for the appointment. Transportation to and from the appointment will also be previously scheduled for the resident and volunteer, most often it will be a Handy Dart and sometimes a Taxi. The Handy Dart times are booked in 30 minute windows, and usually booked 1 hour prior to the appointment time and at the appointment end time to allot enough time for the resident and volunteer to get picked up, dropped off, and to get to the appointment, and back home.
Bring residents to and from appointments via Handy Dart.
Check in with care staff at RILS.
Bring back any important forms back to care staff at RILS.
Must be able to communicate effectively in english and be able to push a manual wheelchair if needed.
