Directions Youth Services, a division of Family Services of Greater Vancouver, offers a range of programs and services to support youth under the age of 25 who are in crisis, experiencing homelessness, or are precariously housed as a result of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance use or mental health challenges. Our Youth Services Centre on Burrard Street, in Vancouver, is BC’s only 24/7/365, low-barrier service for youth. Additionally, Directions operates a nightly shelter, two safehouses, a youth detox, pre-employment programing, a daycare for young moms finishing high school and programs for youth transitioning out of Ministry care.
All programs are client-centred, trauma-informed and non-judgemental.
Directions is busy and bustling and is looking for a person to help with a variety of administrative tasks at our downtown location. Do you love organizing things? Collating filing systems? Laminating materials? Counting stuff? Designing posters? Improving spreadsheets through extreme excel tricks? Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuff done? This volunteer role is extremely meaningful in supporting the backbone of the work that we do in our community.
We need someone who is comfortable with the Office suite of programs, is attentive to details, reliable and flexible. Volunteer time will have some regular tasks and a lot of one-off assignments. We’ll keep you busy and keep activities novel!
