Position description: 

The Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby is a diverse group providing leadership for homeless solutions in Burnaby.  This person is interested in the subject of affordable housing and working with different groups, government levels, individuals on ending homelessness. The Society works closely with the Taskforce on Homelessness - and is a mostly volunteer led organisation.

The Treasurer is responsible for adherence to the Financial Management Policy.  The person will attend monthly board meetings as well as some committee meetings (ie bi-monthly finance committee and/or fundraising meeting)

 

Deliverables/Duties: 

maintain and oversee bank account, donations, donation tracking

oversee annual audit/review with accountant to create financial statements

creating a budget and tracking YTD

membership fees

maintain and reconcile various donation websites

payroll, payroll remittances, GST Rebate, Worksafe

main contact for grant applications and grants, ie Summer Job grant

input in Fundraising activities

Qualifications: 

accounting experience or banking experience

prior experience chairing meetings is an asset

fundraising experience is an asset
