Position description: 

Hats Off Day is Burnaby's biggest and favourite festival (as voted by Burnaby Now readers for the past eight years). On Saturday, June 1rst, Hastings Street is closed to traffic, but left open to a 10-block long colourful parade, followed by a street festival with music, entertainment, kids activities, food, and a Show & Shine vintage car show. More than 50,000 people from all over the Lower Mainland come to Hats Off Day year after year. This year we are looking for responsible volunteers who can help ensure the safety of event patrons by supervising a barricade blocking off feeder streets onto Hastings.



You will be statione at a barricade, and be asked to oversea the varricade throughout the day to ensure no traffic gets through, and that the attendees are safe.

Various shifts are available between the hours of 8am - 5pm. Please email for details.


Must be over 18 years old.

Additional Information: 

Volunteers will be given a brief training session prior to the event

Lunch will be provided for afternoon shifts

All barricade Volutneers are invited to the appreciation BBQ after the event (date TBD)

All Volunteers will recieve a reference letter recognizing their hours contributed
