Family Drop-in Volunteer

Position description: 

Supports parents/caregivers in their role of caring for young children.
Provides /Support care to families who are adjusting to life in Canada.
Assists staff in supporting the physical, social and emotional well being of families from diverse cultures by creating a safe and wecloming atmosphere.

Deliverables/Duties: 

This a Family Program in which parents with small children enjoy socializing , making friends while the small children have a safe and clean place to play. Volunteers will assist staff in setting up activities for children to play , preparing snack for chdilren, supervising chidlren during playtime and general cleaning after the program . Under supervision, volunteers will share community resources or information to clients who need support.
Monday 12pm to 3pm
Tuesday 3pm to 6pm
Wednesday 9-12pm
Friday 9am to 12pm or 12pm to 3pm
Saturday 10am -12pm
Days/Shifts flexible

Qualifications: 

Experinece working with immigrant families as an asset
Patience and understanding of diverse cultures
3 month commitment

Role is suitable for:

English as a second language (ESL)

Well developed oral and communication skill
