Position description: 

Adult volunteers needed for one-to-one tutoring (basic reading/writing/numeracy) once a week for a 1-year commitment. This includes both online and in-person support.

Deliverables/Duties: 

Attend virtual tutor training which will be held on the following dates: Thursdays, Jan 28, Feb 4 & 11, 2021. Some homework and readings to be completed in between training sessions.
Meet with your learner once a week either online or in-person(1-2 hours sessions)
Participate in PD workshops
Commit to a year of tutoring.

Deadline to apply: Jan 21

Qualifications: 

Proficiency in English speaking, writing and reading, Grade 12 equivalency. Individuals who are patient, empathetic and committed are most suited for this position.

Additional Information: 

Tutor training certification upon completion. There are a lot of opportunities for participation in professional development workshops.
Interview and screening with Program Coordinator, RCMP criminal check
