Description: |
Since 1986, Abbottsfield Youth Project (AYP) has been providing preventative life-skills programs for children ages 6-12 who live in high-risk communities in Northeast Edmonton.
Our life-skills programs foster a learn-through-play environment and encourage the development of effective living skills, the pursuit of healthy lifestyle choices and the connection of families to the community.
Abbottsfield Youth Project is now accepting applications for Board Members.
The Board of Directors is the legal authority for Abbottsfield Youth Project (AYP) Society. As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.
Requirements:
• Commitment to the work of the organization.
• Knowledge and skills in one or more areas: policy, finance, law, personnel/management, education, marketing/fundraising and advocacy.
• Attendance at monthly Board meetings (2-2.5 hours per month) and annual general meetings.
• Support of, and participation in, fundraisers & special events.
