Position: Mentor & Tutor for Children

Mission Statement:

Description: Since 1986, Abbottsfield Youth Project (AYP) has been providing preventative life-skills programs for children ages 6 to 12 who live in high-risk communities in Northeast Edmonton.

Our life-skills programs foster a learn-through-play environment and encourage the development of effective living skills, the pursuit of healthy lifestyle choices and the connection of families to the community.

We are now accepting applications for Homework Help Club Mentors.

In this position, you will support, supervise and tutor children (grades 1-6) with their homework and reading assignments. You will also spend time making crafts, playing games and participating in other various activities with the children.

The Homework Help Club runs on Thursdays from
6-8pm in the Youth Resource Centre in Abbottsfield Mall. You don't have to commit to volunteering every week. Our schedules are flexible!
Volunteers Required: up to 5
Skills and Experience: No experience required.

Requirements: Requires criminal records check; Requires child welfare record check
Reimbursements:
Training Provided: Training is provided by Abbottsfield Youth Project. This position is open to all people. You do not need to have tutoring experience.
