Description: |
Pick up clients from their homes and drive them to and from cancer related
treatment.
Help the Society to improve access to cancer-related appointments for all
adults and families who need assistance.
Role
Flexible scheduling
One year minimum commitment
Weekdays
Commitment
Respond to requests for rides by the Volunteer Driver Program coordinator
Confirm travel arrangements with client(s)
Offer minimal assistance to get clients in and out of the car (no lifting required)
Follow safe driving procedures
Become familiar with the programs and services provided by the Society and
share these resources
Submit required forms regularly
Provide confirmation or changes to licence and insurance information
Adhere to all Canadian Cancer Society policies, procedures, standards and
Guidelines
Responsibilities
Valid drivers licence, registration and insurance on vehicle
Completion of required paperwork
Acceptable driving record with no more than four demerits
Access to a well-maintained vehicle
Completion of appropriate training and orientation
Criminal record check
Must be over age 21
Must have a class 5 license (no GDL)

Skills and Experience: |
-Required 1 million Third Party Liability insurance on vehicle.
-Required 5 yrs clean Driver's Abstract.
-Good interpersonal skills. |
