Position: Committee Coordinators, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - CIBC Run for the Cure - Edmonton
Organization: Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Prairies / NWT ChapterOpen site in new window
Mission Statement: The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) - Prairies/NWT is dedicated to creating a future without breast cancer. As the leading not-for-profit organization in Canada working exclusively towards this goal, we collaboratively fund, support and advocate for relevant and innovative breast cancer research; meaningful education and awareness programs; early diagnosis and effective treatment; and a positive quality of life for those living with breast cancer.

Description: The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF) is currently recruiting volunteer Committee Coordinators for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure planning committees in Edmonton.

The Run is a powerful family-oriented event that unites people in support of a common cause. Funds raised by this event go toward supporting breast cancer research, treatment, education and awareness. In 2008, in 55 sites across Canada, 170,000 participants raised over 28.5 million dollars.

Each Run is organized by a local volunteer Run Committee and supported by Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation staff members. The Committee is comprised of two senior volunteer Co-Run Directors and Committee Coordinators who oversee the key areas of responsibility: Marketing, Media, Run Site Logistics, Run Route Coordination, Volunteer Management, Run Day Program and Entertainment, Registration, Run Team Coordination, Stewardship and Sponsorship.

The Committee Coordinators are vital to this volunteer driven event. They assist the Run Directors with the systems, procedures and logistics of the Run. Together with the assistance of Foundation staff the committee is responsible for all aspects of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run for the Cure in their community.

Lead the way to a future without breast cancer. Join the team of dedicated and committed volunteers and help make this year’s run even more successful.
