WSFP event volunteer
West Side Family Place (WSFP) is looking for seven volunteers to assist with a fundraiser on Thursday October 5. All proceeds will go to WSFP.
WSFP provides a welcoming and safe gathering place for parents, caregivers and young children in the community to meet, make new friends, learn and play. As a resource centre, WSFP is dedicated to the provision of community based prevention and support services to families with children from birth to age six.
Set-up Crew - Volunteers will help set up for the event from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Volunteers will arrange tables, cover tables with linens, decorate the venue, set up a registration table and coat check area, displaying silent auction items on tables, stock the bar and prepare the kitchen.
Food Prep - Volunteers will help in the kitchen prepare food for the buffet. This will involve plating prepared food as well as preparing fruit and vegetables and cold hors d'oeuvres . Food Safe certificate appreciated.
Food Servers - Volunteers are needed to serve food from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. Volunteers will circulate the room serving food, picking-up and disposing of waste as required and returning empty glasses to the bar.
Clean-up - Volunteers will help with clean-up: dispose of waste, recycling and organics, fold linens and pack-up party rentals, fold tables and put them away and generally clean the kitchen, bar and main room.
Bartenders - Volunteers will help serve beer and wine. Serving it Right is helpful but not required.
Good communication skills and enthusiasm.
