Therapeutic Group Swim Volunteer (Male)

Position description: 

Male volunteer is needed to attend a therapeutic swimming program to support an adult who lives with a physical disability. This volunteer position is reoccurring every Thursday evening from 6:30- 8:30PM. The volunteer will meet at the Stan Stonge Pool, and assist the client with exercises and swimming while in the shallow water of the pool. Volunteers will also assist with showering and changing,

This is ideal for students looking to gain experience for Therapeutic Recreation, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Medicine, and Kinesiology.

Deliverables/Duties: 

Gain valuable experience working with adults living with a physical disability in a pool setting. This experience is transferable to work in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and recreation therapy.

Qualifications: 

Must be comfortable in the water, experience is an asset.
