KOM Better at Home Volunteer Shopper

Position description: 

Better At Home is a program designed to help seniors live independently in their homes by providing affordable non-medical support services. This position will provide support through driving to and from grocery shopping, usually one time per week.

Reports to: Better At Home Coordinator
Time Commitment: 4-8 hours per month
Scheduling: Flexible, according to volunteer availability


You will provide seniors with door-to-door transportation to and from a grocery store, in Kerrisdale, Oakridge, Marpole and Dunbar. Volunteers also act as front-line eyes and ears to identify seniors that may require further assistance.

*Ability to communicate effectively in English
*Safe driving skills

Reference letter provided after 3 months. Orientation, training and on-going support is provided. Valid drivers licence
Clean Drivers Abstract
Criminal Record Check for vulnerable adults, paid by Agency.
Volunteer uses own vehicle. Mileage paid by Agency, parking paid by clients.
