Sawa World focuses on the world’s poorest countries and ensures these solutions are shared and succeed as locally created, permanent strategies that strive without any dependency on charity or international aid. Our solution programs are currently based out of our Solution Centre, in Kampala, Uganda.

Sawa World is looking for an IT Management Assistant to help support our local office in Vancouver, BC, as well as providing remote assistance to our team in Uganda. This role involves assisting with everything from network setups to troubleshooting issues with our printer! The ideal candidate for this role will bring new, innovative ideas to our team, helping us discover new ways to use IT to improve Sawa World as an organization.

-Provide hands on support with new IT equipment, policies, and processes to support Sawa's growth
-Maintain and optimize office desktops
-Maintain server, printer and wireless network
-Back-up and archiving
-Apply Windows updates, security patches, virus and spyware updates
-Provide ongoing technical support both onsite and remotely
-Troubleshoot and resolve computer problems, hardware and software
-Establish and maintain familiarity with all in-house systems and IT infrastructure
-Provide users with hardware and software training when required
-Must be able to attend in-person meetings and team events in Vancouver
-Experience in computer maintenance and operational support
-Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, tools and processes
-Working knowledge of Outlook, Quickbooks, Dropbox and Google mail
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Ability to work with minimal supervision
-Hands-on Microsoft experience including Microsoft Server 2003, XP, Vista, and Office
-Knowledge of Linux a definite asset
-Hands-on broad third party software experience including Adobe, AVG, Quickbooks, Team Viewer, and Google Suite
-Basic networking knowledge including DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, and wireless router configuration
-Self-motivated and reliable
-Creative and fun personality
