Sawa World believes there is a way to end extreme poverty for billions of people on our planet. The solution lies in the minds, hands and hearts of those who suffer it most. We called them Sawa Leaders; unsung heroes who have themselves been among the one billion people living on one dollar a day or less. Their solutions are documented and shared by vulnerable, unemployed youth in their communities. (http://www.sawaworld.org/)

The Director of Impacts & Innovations will lead the measuring of Sawa’s work in a wide range of areas and also lead the further development of new innovations to advance Sawa’s field model with a current focus on Uganda. The Director will also create and lead a small group of volunteers to support the goals of the Impacts and Innovations Team in a fun, dynamic atmosphere.


Key Responsibilities:
• Have a deep understanding of Sawa World’s work and the key impacts areas that require measuring and assess current tools being used with a focus on Uganda.
• Identify the current and ongoing needs for innovation development
• Research and develop simple effective measurement matrix’s for Sawa’s key impact areas
• Conduct group research and brainstorming sessions to development innovation models
• Research parallel programming worldwide to share learnings, best practices, and resources for matrix and innovation development
• Implement matrix and innovation tools and provide training to relevant team members
• Create a report template for donors and partners to present impacts and new innovations
• Develop a small group of volunteer coordinators to assist with tasks of the team
• Collaborate with other groups to assess ongoing measurement and innovation needs including the Sawa Leader, Youth Media Training and Income Development Teams
• Communicate with the CEO and other team Directors on a regular basis
• Attend monthly team meetings and other team events
