Sawa World believes there is a way to end extreme poverty for billions of people on our planet. The solution lies in the minds, hands and hearts of those who suffer it most. We called them Sawa Leaders; unsung heroes who have themselves been among the one billion people living on one dollar a day or less. Their solutions are documented and shared by vulnerable, unemployed youth in their communities. (http://www.sawaworld.org/) As Sawa World's HR Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the recruitment efforts of our volunteer team here in Canada. You will also be working cross-culturally with our team in Uganda when needed. In addition to positing volunteer positions, you will also be screening, interviewing, creating job descriptions and contracts all in compliance with organization’s policies, contracts, laws, and agreements.


• Create and post job announcements • Pre-screen volunteers via phone and in-person interviewing • Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers, orientations, and contracts. • Creating and maintaining files with important information regarding new members of the team (hiring dates, birthdays, anniversaries, among others) • Coordinate the volunteer training with the person in charge of each area. • Administrating employee referrals (if this is required) • Creating an inclusive, supportive and fun work environment; Organize team events (go for dinner, hikings, etc) • Perform other related duties as required. Office Administration: • Help maintain administration of the info account (reply to emails of interested volunteers), and developing and maintaining a current and accurate filing system
