Elders' Wisdom Program - Food Prep and Meal Cook

Position description: 

Do you like cooking and planning healthy meals for others? Do you enjoy giving back to the community and connecting with people through food? Come join us for 4 hours a week.

The Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society's (VAFCS) Elders' Wisdom Program is seeking individuals to help with meal planning, preparation, serving and general kitchen duties and clean up.

VAFCS is seeking volunteers to fill positions on:

  • Wednesday (Kitchen Lead)
  • Thursday

​Weekly from 10:00am to 2:00pm.

Deliverables/Duties: 
  • Plan healthy meals on a limited budget
  • Remain mindful of elders' physical and spiritual needs or requirements
Qualifications: 
  • English is an asset
  • Ability to work in a team with a helpful and cooperative attitude
  • Pleasant, mindful disposition 
  • Experience in preparing and serving lunch is an asset, but not necessary
Role is suitable for: 
Adult
English as a second language (ESL)
Additional Information: 

Short interviews will be conducted on Tuesdays and Fridays but can be modified to accomodate your schedule if needed. Training is provided.
