Sawa World believes there is a way to end extreme poverty for billions of people on our planet. The solution lies in the minds, hands and hearts of those who suffer it most. We called them Sawa Leaders; unsung heroes who have themselves been among the one billion people living on one dollar a day or less. Their solutions are documented and shared by vulnerable, unemployed youth in their communities. (http://www.sawaworld.org/)

The main objective is to work with our current co-director to help support and lead the Artwork and Branding Team to accomplish annual and quarterly goals outlined by the team and the organization's founder. Immediate needs on this team include updates to our marketing and training materials, social media visuals design, and internal training and orientation materials. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who can work well independently, and has a desire to bring new, innovative ideas to our team!

Deliverables/Duties: 

Key Responsibilities:

Design effective online graphics for the website

Design marketing materials as needed such as business cards, postcards, campaigns

Conduct ongoing research and advice on innovative branding methods

Create original artwork and visuals to represent and promote the Sawa World brand

Communicate with team coordinators, support staff and attend group meetings

Qualifications: 

Skills: Excellent creative design skills and working knowledge of the graphic design software (Illustrator and Photoshop)

Leadership experience pertaining to leading, motivating, delegating and supporting a small team

Detail-oriented, self-directed and dedicated work ethic

Professional experience in graphic design and possession of a portfolio

Creative, energetic and fun personality
