Volunteer - Delivery of Supplies
The Society To End Homelessness In Burnaby operates an Outreach Resource Centre one morning a week working collaboratively with local agencies, businesses and faith communities.
The Outreach Resource Centre provides food, clothing, toiletries and outreach worker assistance for Burnaby citizens who are living in extreme poverty and homelessness.
The Outreach Resource Centre operates solely on donations from businesses, faith community members and concerned citizens.
Volunteers are needed to transport and work with a team to unload the supplies and equipment needed to support this program.
The greatest benefit of this position is knowing that your contribution is assisting people in genuine need.
The Volunteer is available to
- load supplies and equipment from storage into their vehicle on Wednesdays for 1 hour between 9am - 4pm
- deliver and help unload the supplies at 8:00am on Thursdays
- work with a team at 11:30am on Thursdays to load the supplies into their vehicle and return them to storage
This volunteer is reliable, honest, works well in a team and has good communication skills.
This volunteer is of good health and can easily lift items up to 20 pounds.
This Volunteer must be at least 19 years of age, have a valid BC drivers license, and dependable access to an insured vehicle for transport. ie mini van, truck.
A criminal record check is mandatory.
Volunteers must sign a confidentiality agreement.
Two references are required.
